The VEGA VEGAFLEX 82 is a robust TDR guided wave radar sensor designed for continuous level measurement of bulk solids in industrial silos and storage vessels. Its guided microwave radar technology delivers precise and reliable level readings even under challenging conditions such as dust, condensation or buildup.

Because the sensor supports multiple probe options (cable, rod or combination), it adapts well to a wide range of bulk materials, from light powders to heavy solids. In addition, the instrument provides flexible output interfaces for easy integration into process systems.

Not Recommended For:
• Non‑solid applications such as free‑flowing liquids without waveguides
• Very low dielectric materials that fall below the detectable threshold without probe end tracking

• Confirm the bulk solid type and dielectric constant to ensure reliable TDR measurement. The sensor adapts to most solids due to automatic probe end tracking.
• Verify the measurement range needed; VEGAFLEX 82 supports long distances up to 75 m with cable probes. 
• Choose between cable or rod probes, depending on silo height and installation geometry. 
• Determine the appropriate process fittings such as threaded (≥ G¾/¾ NPT) or flanged (≥ DN25/1″) connections.
